MARVIN P. VELASTEGUI
Position:
Senior AttorneyMarvin was accepted into the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) in January of 2020. Marvin has been the first chair in over a dozen jury trials to verdict. He has tried cases in San Diego, Los Angeles, Riverside, Ventura, and Santa Barbara.
Marvin worked for GEICO from 2013 to 2023. For the first two years he worked as an attorney in the San Diego Staff Counsel Office. He was then promoted to Managing Attorney of the San Diego Staff Counsel Office and worked in that role from 2015 to 2019. Marvin then worked as the Managing Attorney of the Los Angeles Staff Counsel Office from 2019 to 2023 as well as the Managing Attorney of the Santa Ana Staff Counsel Office from 2021 to 2023. He managed both the Los Angeles and Santa Ana offices as one combined office during that time.
Marvin’s 8 years of managing attorney experience at GEICO helped him sharpen his skills at effective communication with clients and opposing counsel, problem-solving, strategizing the best/most efficient path in litigating files as well as preparing cases for early resolution or success at trial.
Prior to GEICO, Marvin spent the first ten years of his practice primarily working as a civil insurance defense attorney at different law firms in Southern California including a top 100 national law firm. Marvin is licensed to practice before the U.S. District Court of the Central District. He also speaks Spanish.
