MICHAEL J. CODY
Position:
Founding PartnerFor the past 20 years, Michael Cody has litigated both general and complex civil litigation cases including bodily injury and property damage defense, catastrophic injury defense, medical malpractice and professional liability defense, employment defense, business litigation, land development and construction defect.
Michael is known as an effective and thorough litigator. He understands the importance of early evaluation of cases to ensure they are being properly and efficiently prepared for either settlement or trial.
Michael spent his first 6 years of practice representing physicians, nurses and hospitals in medical malpractice litigation and defending automobile personal injury matters. He later gained significant trial experience while representing private clients in complex real estate, business/commercial and employment litigation matters at a boutique law firm for 8 years.
Michael returned to the insurance defense arena several years ago, working primarily on catastrophic injury, complex commercial construction defect and professional liability matters for a mid-sized, multi-state law firm before starting Macdonald & Cody. Michael has tried over a dozen cases to verdict – from auto accidents to breach of contract to business/partnership disputes – including obtaining a $25 million verdict for a large, federally-insured bank in a lawsuit over a complicated land development and water rights deal in Colorado.
