BRANDEN FRANKEL

Senior AttorneyBranden Frankel is a senior law and motion attorney at Macdonald & Cody. He brings extensive experience handling motion practice in personal injury, habitability, and insurance defense matters throughout California.
Branden researches, drafts, and opposes a broad range of motions and ex parte applications, including dispositive, discovery, pretrial, and post-trial motions. His experience includes motions for summary judgment and summary adjudication, motions in limine, demurrers, motions to strike, motions to compel, motions to quash, motions to dismiss, motions involving arbitration and good-faith settlements, and applications concerning the settlement of claims involving minors or persons with disabilities. He has appeared in courts across California and is particularly familiar with the local practices and courtroom standards of Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, and San Diego counties.
Before joining Macdonald & Cody, Branden developed and led the law and motion practice at an established California litigation firm. He previously supported a busy insurance defense team handling vehicle-accident and personal-injury matters. Earlier in his career, he spent nearly nine years as corporate counsel for a Southern California recycling company, overseeing its litigation, contracts, and compliance matters and advising its management team.
Branden earned his J.D. from the UCLA School of Law and his B.A. in philosophy from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Outside the practice of law, Branden writes and performs original music and writes fiction. These creative pursuits reflect the same careful attention to language, structure, and storytelling that he brings to legal advocacy.
