Prior to joining Macdonald & Cody, LLP, Janet Li passionately vindicated clients’ rights in litigating personal injury, contracts disputes, and wills and trusts matters at well-respected civil litigation and trust litigation law firms. Janet also had the privilege to serve as a Legal Research Attorney at a California Superior Court, where she helped Judges rule on cases fairly and efficiently by assisting them with accurate research and analysis and providing practical recommendations.
Janet now devotes her practice to litigation involving personal injury and property damage. Her broad range of experience, strong writing and analysis skills, and keen attention to detail make her particularly resourceful and effective in reaching settlement or proceeding to trial if necessary.
Janet earned the Witkin and CALI Excellence Awards for being the top student in a Trial Advocacy class at UC Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco. She served as a Practitioner Contributor to Black’s Law Dictionary, 9th Edition.
When not fighting legal battles for clients, she loves to volunteer at bar associations, alumni boards, and pro-bono clinics to give back to the community. For consecutive years, she served as the Newsletter Committee Chair/Co-Chair at the Asian American Bar Association of the Greater Bay Area. She helped find a cure for cancer by running and fundraising with Orange County Bar Association’s “Raising the Bar” Team at the Komen Race for the Cure in Newport Beach. As a dedicated and avid runner with a winning spirit, she has won top three place medals in her age/gender divisions at 5K races in Northern and Southern California.
